I have a Tyan K8E-SLI S2866 motherboard that will not post and gives the beep code for video error. I've tried a single ATI Radeon PCI-e X-600 Pro or a single Crucial X300SE PCIe video card. These are some questions that the Tyan manual does not answer: 1) Must power be connected to the power connector on the motherboard near the video card slots even if the power supply has the two special connectors that go to the motherboard near the main power connector? (I've tried it with and without this connection.) 2) Must the "PCI bridge" printed circuit board be inserted when one is using a single PCI-e video card that is not marked as SLI capable? (I've tried it with and without.) 3) Can the motherboard use PCI-e cards that are not marked as "SLI" capable? Or must the card specs say that it is "SLI"?
