k8v deluxe and sata/pata adapter system freezes

    Hi,

    I have put one of these here. I have to pata disks. And connected
    one through the sata-interface to the promise controller since
    Linux 2.6 does not recognize pata disks on this controller. However
    this gives me freezes when I write on the disk (it's a maxtor udma 6
    disk). The freezes happen in Linux and in windows XP so I guess it's
    a hardware problem. Does anybody have experience with an adapter on
    this board?
