Here's the deal...
My system shuts off during Install of Windows XP Pro right after the first reboot. Every time, same place. No errors, no nothing. Just fine then... OFF. Sometimes it doesn't take that long. Happens on Win ME (for testing... I swear) also, and it doesn't take but maybe a few minutes tops. Sometimes it will power off just after POST... Monitor doesn't even have time to warm up.

It will idle fine just sitting there in BIOS for hours, or with an ME startup disk to boot with.

MY guess is that it's a PSU problem. Heat is not an issue, I have tried multiple everything except Motherboard and PSU. Trying to hunt down an friends extra one or one I can borrow before purchase. I'm listing the setup below as I plan on running the system (BIOS is stock... no OC or anything of that sort). I didn't think I had too many power hungry parts here...

KD7-RAID
Athlon 2400+ XP
Radeon 9200
2x256 Crucial DDR 2100
CDRW
56x CD
2x Seagate 40GB 7200
SBLive 5.1 Platinum
Antec SmartPower 400W <---What I believe the problem to be

That should be it... Hope someone has some insight.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

Hay it is worth a try. I had a similar problem. I went into the BIOS at the PC Health menu and disabled the CPU fan fail shut off feature. JPS
