Hello all,

I just got the KD7A motherboard. I like it just fine. I currently have an AMD Tbird 2000+ (1697mhz?) on the board. The chip is a carry over from a former Epox board. I suspect this motherboard could go higher than epox did with its 333 fsb etc. A little google and newsgroup reading is saying a 3000+ 333fsb chip could go in this motherboard. Is this so? I did not find much on this board at Abit. I found oddly enough more info on it by looking at retailer websites specifications on the board.

any tips are appreciated on this.

Thanks,
sl

Yes, or about any other cpu you want.

Was gone for a few day, but thanks Wes. It seems this board is pretty good so far. The only downside it the sound. Im comparing it to my soundblaster live value. I do like the environment effects (EAX, theater, concert etc..) it provides for my simple quad speaker setup. I have two sets of creative self-powered desktop speakers. My 5.1 reciever bit the dust and this is my temporary setup.

Is there a way to enable the same sort of effects on the built in audio on this board. I just need the front and rear speakers, and mux the sub between the front/rear. Are there alternate drivers to do that?

thanks,
SL
