I've managed to get my WinXP setup to boot normally again, but every time it boots up it finds a new "PCI to PCI bridge", and asks for drivers. Neither the WinXP CD nor my downloaded 4in1 drivers seem to contain this driver.

Whenever I try to install my video card (Creative Gf4 Ti4400) or sound card (Creative Audigy) the install program works fine, but the card doesn't work when windows is rebooted. The display adapter WinXP uses is called "vgasave" and there's no sign of my Nvidia display adapter. The two sound card driver files are shown as corrupted or damaged even though they install fine. Could this be a result of the "PCI-PCI Bridge" problem ?

Where is the driver for this 'bridge' thing ?

Cheers,

Blewyn

the KG7 has a unique situation where it has both VIA and AMD chipsets (NB/SB) on it. XP usually installs drivers for these chipsets without issue in my experience. However, you may want to look at www.sudhian.com for tips on this board and what drivers to try installing.

You probably accidentally installed the AGP driver from the VIA 4-in-1 pack, whereas the KG7 series needs to have that unchecked and instead let Windows XP handle the AGP with it's built in 761 driver. If you still have problems you can try installing the AMD AGP miniport driver from their web site (google amd agp miniport download). I think Windows Update has a newer one, but not 100% sure.
