My computer was running fine and now it will not power up. Question did my PS go out on me because it looks fine or can it be something else. The PS is only about a year old and came with the case.

Came with the case? Lasted a year!
My pre installed PS lasted 6 months, had it warranted , lasted 6 months.......... NoJOB@aol.

try reseating the ram with the board well supported under the ram slots so it doesn't flex when you are trying to seat the ram in those very tight ram slots that are on the kg7

Hi TomG, I tried reseating the ram still no power is there anyway I can tell if the PS is bad or is there something else I should try? Thanx

all you can do is test by substitution. try a different PS from another computer in there or purchase a newer PS that will be an upgrade to the one you have. if you get no fans or other signs of life, you either have a short to the case or a bad component somewhere, including the PS.

you can try removing cards, all except video and see what happens then.

Tom / Stretch,

If I recall correctly the white wire on the ATX PSU is the earth good line back to the PSU, if this is directly connected to one of the black leads it should complete the 'power good' loop circuit, and providing all other connectors are removed from the motherboard and devices the power outs can be checked using a meter.

Does the PSU fan spin up?
