KG7-R unknown cpu @2145 OH yea

Well, I waited and waited with that XP2400 in my TigerDirect shopping cart. Finally the price broke (Remember IM frugal) dropped it in tonight. First thing I noticed is it runs 5 C cooler than the palomino! Yea I can put a quitter fan in now. And so far it's taking a FSB of 144 with no prob., Did not change slew or p.n. values Memtest is running now 6 passes 1 error? I expended some tweaking it's close though. Anyway witch BIOS recognized the 2400? NoJOB@aol.

I'm curious which witch did that bios for you. I've known a lot of witches in my time. and some of them started with a b.

Running at 2145Mhz it isn't a 2400+ any longer. Unknown cpu is what the bios puts out when it can't find a match in it's support table for a cpu model. IOW, it's the speed of the cpu, not the actual model that matters as for as the bios reporting what it is. It's just cosmetics and does don't affect the operation of the cpu in any way.

nope u have to flash to newest dm and select 2100+ in the bios and then it will see it as a 2400+

I set min to 2200+ to show as a 2400+.

Anyone know how to get a 2600+ to show as a 2600+? Never tried it, just curious.

I seriously doubt if 2600+ is even in the bios table. I'm surpirsed it had 2400+ there.
