Anyone have problems with mirror raid after going to XP pro?
I ran the mirror raid using Win98se without problems for 2 years on my kt7a-r ver. 1 mb.
When I did a clean install of WinXP pro and tried it. It crashed repeatedly after a week or two. I did all the stuff like loading the correct drivers during the installs and it would run OK for a brief time and then errors kept coming and it crashed.
I thought my HP chip may have went bad, so I disabled raid in the bios and now run the system with XP and stuff on the master hd on ide one and a slave drive on the same ribbon to which I Ghost drive one to for data preservation.
So far, so good. My raid was for data preservation and it doesn't work if the OS writes junk to both drives in a mirror array. My 2 hd are OK as those are the same two I had in the raid setup.
