I am running the KT7A-RAID with an XP 2500+ Barton at 2 HHz (x12.5). L3-3 and L3-5 are cut !! The resulting CPU clock is 2.GHz.

Have 1 GB of RAM

Very stable - no problems for over a week of day & night operation.

My "Speedfan" indicates a 30 deg C, though the room temperture is reasonably low ...

I have not played with the FSB/PCI bus speeds in the BIOS, and because of the way I use my computer, I don't want to "experiment" it too much.

If anyone is running the FSB/PCI at high settings and feels that it has been fully stable, please advise. I will thne try to move it up.

Thank you.

This means you're running at 20x100MHz FSB.

Use a boot floppy/cd to avoid HD corrpution when testing. Memtest works good. Or unplug your HD til you get a stable system.

You have many options. With the larger cache FSB speed isn't as critical as it would be with less. How much more speed do you want? You could set the multiplier to 22x, 23x, or 24x. You could leave it at 20x and add 5 to FSB for 20x105 (2100MHz). You can set the multiplier to 17x (9 in bios) and FSB to 133MHZ for 2266MHz, but this requires good components and may not be stable. If you're doing critical work on your machine, I wouldn't go over 2200MHz if I were you. 20x105 would probably be the safest. But only you will know how far your system can go.

Well Wes, you are the expert...!! - tell me how ? - The highest I could setthe BIOS to was x12.5, How am I getting more ?

Wes - if the only improvement I can get to is 2200MHz (from 2 MHz), the 200 KHz would make no difference to me. I will thus stay with a stable machine at 2.0 GHz.

I will soon follow with another question regrading the TB 900 MHz I used to have with the same board. Will appreciate your inputs then.

Thanks !!
