kt7 raid last bios update was 3r.
one hard drive on primary.
2 cds on secondary.
NO drives on Raid.
Running fine. No chgs in configuration. Same hardware config for at least a year. Just recovered o/s about 3 mths ago. This is a secondary machine that I use for running stuff like quicktime and other apps that screw with my config on main machine. They are connectted with a linksys befsr41 router. firmware was updated on june 02 as there was a issue of security. . Computer rebooted by itself one day and hung and I have not been able to get it running ever since. Turn on Power switch both power, hdd activity light comes on permanantly they don't got out. All fans, cd spin up but no video, no bios screen, no post. Checked power supply on other computer, fine. Checked hdd on other computer. C parttion doesn't show up but other 2 partitions are accessable I pulled some files off and they work fine.. Returned the drive to offending machine. Tryed a boot disk nothing. No light activity on floppy. Alternatively pulled ram out no difference. Tryed a different working video card no difference. Visually checked cpu by pulling heat sink for evidence of burning/scorcing/damage. Looks fine. Pulled all pci cards except for video. no change This system was in a case that kept the system temp around 33 degrees C. It was well ventilated.

It could be the cmos. But I don't think so
But I have no experience with trojans or viruses that write to this memory. I did forget to load norton antivirus on it after the recovery but I did that 2 weeks ago. The main machine has updated antivirus from norton on it. I am pretty cautious about downloading files and only from reputatable companies. Use mailwasher for all my email to preview headers. I did run lavasoft ad aware 6 on both machines every couple of days and made sure it was updated.

My guess it's a motherboard hardware failure.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Pls post to group email address bogus.

As someone else already suggested. Sounds like bad caps.
