Latest driver for 7025 IGP

I've been using an AMD X2 4800+ on a Gigabyte M68SM-S2 motherboard with its
    GF7025 IGP for the past one year. OS = WinXP SP3, RAM = 1GB DDR2/800. I 'm
not a gamer and have no pressing need to squeeze the last ounce of
performance from the onboard video, but I'd like to know why I cannot use a
    display driver later than 169.21.

    I use a CRT monitor at 800x600 or 1024x768 at 60Hz. 175.16 causes display
corruption with some apps. 185.85 makes the screen blink, alternating
between normal display and a dark screen. The blinking is irregular and
occurs approximately once every 1 to 5 seconds. Uninstalling and
reinstalling these versions makes no difference, neither does changing the
    amount of VRAM in BIOS.

Is there any tweaking that has to be done from the NVidia control panel? (I
almost never touch the NVidia settings and can't see anything obvious).
There doesn't seem to be anything on the NVidia download page specifically
for IGPs. Can anybody please clarify?
