length compensation for RocketIO channels

Discussion in 'Embedded' started by Denkedran Joe, Jun 6, 2008.

  1. Hi there,

    I'm designing a PCB that incorporates a Virtex4 FX60 with 16 RocketIOs. All
RocketIOs function only as a receiver and I wonder if you should care for
length compensation on my FR4 board, anyway. The reason I am not sure is
that in my opinion each RocketIO synrchonizes itself independently on the
incoming data stream since I am using 8B/10B coding. If this is true I could
save myself a lot of useless work... :)

    Regards Joe
