I have a need to upgrade a Dimension 8400 to Vista. I didn't have spare
memory, so I tried it with 768MB of memory.

Wow, what a dog. Just trying to install a program took about 25x as
    long.

Rearrange memory from other machines and have 1.5Gb now. Runs MUCH
    better.

I thought it would at least run as a file server with 768MB

    Nope.

    Tom,

I think you have uncovered the secret behind the resounding success of Vista.
Woof! With 768MB, you might have a nice computer to play solitare. Of course,
a 32MB system running Windows 95 is pretty good for playing solitare, too... Ben
