Hi,

To keep this on topic to the group, the ram is going into a Abit board. :)

PC3200, choose one:
Crucial,
Kingston (Value Ram?),
or OCZ Technology (and is Enhanced Latency ram any good or just a marketting ploy?)

I am most tempted towards Crucial as a few ram sticks I have bought in the past have been Crucial. But what are your opinions?

have a look at this page

gives you a comparison between all the branded memory you are considering, and guess which one is recommended :-)

Thanks for the link Lee.

judging by the price/performance then yeah cant go wrong with Crucial. :)

but it Crucial ram doesnt have a heatspreader/sink on them. Is that much of a disadvantage. Does it make them likely to over heat and cause lockups? Though, the money saved by buying Crucial is plenty more than enough to buy ram heatsinks. Do the sinks cause problems with installing the ram? can the ram take up slots next to each other with the sinks?

I use Kingston without heatsinks ... running a P4 2.4 @ 3 ... not a single heat issue. regards @ndrew
