MS-6380: Can't Install Graphics Card in XP Pro

    Anybody else had this problem or, better still, a fix.

    Tried to install an ati rage pro 128 and a nvidia geforce4 m440 but
    machine refuses to reboot normally after drivers are installed. Boots
    into safe or vga mode.

    Tried with two different crt monitors. The ati card installs in win98
    (not tried the nvidia yet).

    I think that my motherboard or bios settings are somehow inconsistent
    with xp.

    Please help! I've been at this for three weeks now.

    i had a similar problem... try to reinstall ur OS with vid card in and see
    what happens.

    I did install xp with the ati card already in.
