msi 6119 sound problems - help

    I have an MSI-6119 MB with Award bios ver 2.9, I cannot get the sound to
    work. The older sound card used the ess 1869 drivers and didn't work, so I
    picked up a new chaintech 5.1 off NEwegg. Same problem!!! I can play a cd
    and it will play through the speakers (cable attached from cd), but no
    windows-based sound come through.


    Any Ideas?
