Need Hard Disk Holder and Packard-Bell Slide

Discussion in 'PC Hardware' started by Charles Richmond, Feb 15, 2004.

  1. I have an old Packard-Bell Computer with *no* hard disk. I
want to add a hard disk, but the "*!~(*^#" computer is
built to take a proprietary "disk slide". The hard disk is
screwed to the slide, and the slide is pushed into position
in the case. Where can I get such a slide???

    Also, I have a couple of Seagate 40 meg hard disks...and I
want to mount them into a computer case that has *no*
provision for any hard disk at all. What is the best way
to get a disk drive bracket to hold these??? Can I buy
sheet medal and "break" it to fit???

(Note: I am *not* talking about a hard disk mounting kit.
I need the actual brackets that are built into the case
that will hold the disks in place.)

eBay auctions include such items at times.

    Does BIOS have provision?
