I just built this machine and with a little help from past posts I've been able to OC it to 2.8 very stable with the settings below.

1. FSB = 234
2. Dram Ratio = 3:2
3. Dram Timing = 2-5-2-2
4. CPU voltage = default - 1.5
5. CPU temp = 48 degrees - stock heat sink/fan

When I boosted just the FSB to 250, it would not boot. I need to know what else I need to do/reset to try to get 250/3 ghz out of this puppy.

Any help (especially from someone who has done it) would be appreciated

Hi Larry

I'll give you my settings for you to try, I'm using a 2.6C @ 250FSB which is giving me 3.26GHZ. FSB = 250 Dram Ratio = 3:2 Dram timing = 2.5-6-3-3 Dram voltage = 2.7 CPU voltage = 1.5 CPU Temp Idle = 43 CPU Load = 53 - 57 This is on a stock cooler but i've just ordered a Zalman 7000 cu so hopefully those temps will drop a bit. I've set the game accelerator to auto as mine locks up on anything else. If these settings fail try playing with the memory timings.

Good luck :)

what sort of ram are you running? could be that your ram is the limiting factor. you may want to set the ram timing on the advanced chipset page to by spd until you find out if the ram is limiting you in the event that the 2, 5, 2, 2 timings are part of the issue.

Tom:

I'm using Corsair twin512-3200cptddr400 xms3200, this memory was recommended by an earier post. Do you stiil think this ram could be the problem?

yeah, I do. I would have gone with the XMS3500 myself but I do think it is possible your ram could be a limiting factor.

Hi ... I have the same setup as you .. except I am running Kingston 3200 ram. A few additions to what you are doing ... do not set the memory timing (sorry Tom) does not work with this board. The ABIT forum page is full of stories about how the memory timing cannot be set .. set to auto will automatically level where it should be. Leave it fixed. Set your bootstrap to 800 in the user define setting and the ram to 5:4 The FSB to 250 of course all other settings fixed. BTW I am running my 2.4 at 3.0 stable with a Volcano TT heatsink and fan o) Good luck @ndrew

Sorry forgot .. also pushed my ram to 2.7 volts o)

actually, @ndrew, I was saying not to set the memory timing as well. having it set to "By SPD" is allowing the board to set the timing. saying that setting the memory timing does not work is an all-encompassing statement that begs for you to be wrong. with certain ram, you may not be able to set the memory timing but with others, you can. I am setting the memory timing on my IC7-G to 2, 5, 2, 2 with Corsair XMS3500 DDR and it is working fine at 244 FSB and 4:5 ratio at NB 800.

I also set timings manually ,IC7 , xms3500 @ 275, 5:4, 2 6 2 2 , 2.8v = 2.4hgz @ 3.3ghz ,spark7 Air cooled ,and 100% stable even in this tropical weather we're having here in Britain at the moment! Set your RAM to 2.8v you ai'nt gonna do a lot of overclocking without it at 2.8 "TomG" wrote:
