I am after updating my system and would like to purchase an AV8 m/b but
cannot yet afford a 939 processor to go in it.

Specifications state this board supports AND 64 and AMD64 FX.

Does this mean I can run a 754 processor in the 939 socket?

Is this a dumb question? I am ok around 32 bit pirocessing but 64 bit is a
    completely different world to me!

    Thanks for help in advance...

    Eh, no - you can't run a 754 in a 939..
Either buy a socket 754 cpu & mobo or wait for 939 prices to come down.
