Hi, I built a new system a while back and have recently seen about a 1/3 a drop in the HD speed as measured by Sandra drive index.
My system:
NF7-S v1.1
Athlon Barton 2500+
Micron 2700 - 512k
Radeon 9000 pro
Maxtor 80 Gig - ata133 - boot disk NTFS (ide-1 master)
Maxtor 60 Gig - ata133 - Fat 32 (ide-1 slave)
Lite-on cd-rw
Sony DVD player
Alpine FD
OS - Win XP sp1
When I built the system the drive index for the Max 80 drive was about 30000, and the Max 60 was (and still is) about 32567.
Now, the Max 80 HD is barely reading a drive index of 22000. I also tried the SATA addapter on the max 80 but the drive index was about the same as the IDE. The only significant change over the months is the addition of new programs to the Max 80 drive - Free space is > 52Gig.
Am I missing anything obvious? Can't figure out the reduction in speed.
Here is a copy of the latest drive test for both drives. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Bob
