NF7-S Hard Drive problem

Hey All! I just got an NF7-S with an athlon XP 3000+ and Maxtor Ultra SATA 120 GB hard drive. No where in the bios is the hard drive recognized. I ran max blaster and it found and formatted the drive for win xp but Windows will not install and says it cannot find the hard drive. Is there somewhere in the bios I have to turn on SATA? If so where? Any help is much appreciated!!

You need to get the SATA drivers off the CD that came with your mobo and put them on a floppy disk. Unfortunately, Abit didn't bother to include a floppy disk with them on so you have to create your own. I'm assuming you are using XP? When you start the Windows XP install it will say at the bottom of the screen to press F6 to install 3rd party SCSI or Raid drivers. Press F6 and a short while later it will ask you to insert a floppy disk with the drivers on and press the S key to install them After this it should carry on and install XP fine. The only time you should see the Maxtor recognised is after the machine has POSTED and the SATA raid config pops up on the screen.

I got a sata driver floppy too. There is an option when XP setup is running to load raid or third party drivers.

If you didnt get it then email me and I'll send you the disc contents
