Hello all

I currently have 2 HDD's. One 120 GB Maxtor with the OS and programs on (2 partitions) and one 40 GB Maxtor with 3 partitions (downloads, backup & swapfile). I've read (*somewhere*) that the swapfile performs better on a separate IDE channel.

Can I just connect the second device driver to the MoBo's using the PATA > SATA adaptor without causing XP to throw a wobbly?

(I know if I was trying to boot from a SATA HDD I'd need to hit F6 during the OS install.)

BTW even if the above doesn't yield a performance gain I'm curious as to the answer.

TIA

Bill L
