I was unable to get my AMD2500+ Barton beyond 166FSB on my NF7-M motherboard. This newsgroup convinced me it was PC2700 memory, and I bought a matched set of 256MB Kingston PC3200 RAM. I put them in slots DIMM2 & 3, and Dual DDR is activated. Now I'm happy at
2.3GB (200 x 11.5).
Sandra SciSoft benchmarks equal a AMD3400+, and 3DMark 2001 SE scores almost doubled.
I had 1GB memory before, and would like to add another 256-512MB to my now 512MB. (Actually, 480MB after giving 32MB to the onboard memory) Reviewing my motherboard manual shows it only allows two sticks of DDR400, as opposed to three of DDR333.
I've seen comments in newsgroups that three sticks of DDR400 should work, but they never actually say they tried it. Has anybody actually used three sticks of DDR400 memory on this board? I really don't feel like throwing out the memory I have, I just want to add a third stick of the same specs.
