hello!

I've bought ABITs NF7 v2.0 lately. Everything works OK so far. None problems with my hardware... besides SoundBlaster 128PCI - can't install game port for this sound card in winXP Pro, I don' know why. All newest drivers are installed.

Device state for 128PCI(game port) in Hardware Manager says, there are no free resources for this device. I tried to change it manually, but I can't find free resource. What can I do? Throw sound card away ;)

I connect my MS Sidewinder game pad via this game port.

SB 128PCI is installed in 2nd PCI port.

The "latest" drivers have to post date the Nforce2 chipset to work. All gameports require drivers which shift the gameport address when the nforce conflict is detected.

Very few creative drivers have been modified. You might find only the live/audigy family have been.

Lates drivers for nForce2?

I've got:
nForce_2.45_WinXP2K_WHQL_english.exe

All gameports require drivers which shift the gameport address when the nforce conflict is detected.

I've installed SPCTAUDIOSetupus.exe drivers for SB128PCI, which i've downloaded from creative.com website. Drivers contain support for gameport. I've used them many times under winXP when I had Soltek 75KAV (KT133A) mainboard and there was no problem.

Could you help me please and drop here some direct link? :)

He means latest Creative drivers that address the nForce2 chipset. It's doubtful that Creative has updated drivers for as old a card as the PCI128 and as new a chipset as the nForce2 is what he's saying. Don't know if this is the case; check with Creative.

You did disable the built in audio, correct? If so, try another PCI slot. I have the Live 5.1 card in PCI slot 3 and it works fine (although I don't use the game port, so I couldn't attest to that).

I've had the same problem with my PCI audio card and a game port. I've tried the latest Creative drivers, actually they're quite old, and still nothing. Tried different PCI slots and everything else that the list recommended. I've also tried a few different brand Gameport - USB converters, still no go. I think in the end l'll just buy a USB joystick and be done with it.

of course I did :)

I tried 3rd, same problem.

dr_hardware Live 5.1 is newest Sound Card and drivers are still developed? aren't they? ;) So probably Live works better and has no problem with nForce2 chipset compatibylity.

(although I don't use the game port, so I couldn't attest to that).

Don't have to check it, If You haven't "interjection" in (gameport device) @ hardware manager, this port works ok for sure.

For your info, the gameport on the TurtleBeach SantaCruz works beautifully on my nf7-2.

Only with recent drivers!

Guys! drop me some link, please. You're talking about some new drivers, but I can't find anything on creative website... or You're taking about tweaked drivers or smth :/

We are talking about soundcard drivers produced by the relevent soundcard makers. Creative have not produced drivers with a fix other than for the live/audigy range. The previous post read like the Santa Cruz worked out of the box when it took quite a while for beta drivers with an nforce fix to appear.

so there are no chances to find those "tweaked" drivers for SB 128PCI? right?
