no cpu multiplier option in BIOS jumperfree configuration

Discussion in 'Asus' started by =?ISO-8859-15?Q?Hans_H=F6rmann?=, Jul 19, 2006.

  1. Board: K8N4-E SE
    CPU: AMD Sempron64 2800+ Palermo
RAM: 1 piece: DIMM 256 MB SDRAM DDR-266 (PC 2100)

    BIOS, Advanced Settings:
i don't see an option to set the cpu multiplier.

    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cool'n'Quiet :
says, socket-754 supports cool'n'quiet only from a cpu frequency of 3000+

is this also the reason why bios does not offer an cpu multiplier setting?

do i have to buy a sempron64 3000+ to get this option?

my reason for this is: i want to assemble a 24-hour-per-day ftp server,
which shall be undertacted to have less cooling efforts and less energy
    consuming.

    regards,
    hans

Read this article, and see whether CrystalCPUID works for
your processor. Only make it a startup item for Windows,
once you've tested that it works properly first.
