Hi everyone. ,-).

I'm missing sound in one sound channel, in my case it's the left channel. No matter what I try, no sound is coming in in the left speaker. I only have two desktop speakers, and are therefore only using the "2-channel mode for normal stereo output". I think I've tried all possible solutions, removing jumpers (on FP-AUDIO1), changing modes in AC97 Audio Config tool, etc. etc.

The jack-stick from the desktop speakers is "fully" connected and I've tried changing to "headphones" in both Windows audio settings and in AC'97 software (Sound Effect Manager).

I even tried with a normal stereo headset, but still no sound in the left channel.

And I'm pretty sure it's the "right" plug I'm using, cause it's the "green plug", that I'm using. (which is also shown in the Sound Effect Manager SW).

Are there any cure for this problem?.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers
Chris.

Systeminformation:
Abit IC7-Max3, P4-2,4GHz (no overclocking), 2*SATA Maxtor drives (running RAID0), Plextor A708 DVD, WinFast G-Force2 Pro. Windows XP installed.

I had the same problem, but my case may have been a little different.

I originally wired the optional connectors for a headphone jack on the front of my case. One channel of sound was missing on speakers and headphone.

I unhooked the front panel connectors, and used splitters to feed two speaker sets (one on an amp hooked to speakers by the TV,) and also the headphones. Same symptoms.

When I simplified the setup, using a single splitter for one pair of speakers and phones, it finally worked.

It's only a guess, but I suspect the output is fairly weak and unpowered speakers or anything requiring more juice causes it to malfunction.
