Normal to see Backups.backupdb as a folder on a Time Machine drive?

Discussion in 'Apple' started by Jamie Kahn Genet, Jul 5, 2008.

  1. Is it normal to see Backups.backupdb as a folder on an external HD used
for Time Machine? I'm surprised it's not showing up as a bundle. It
seems like this makes the backup too easily messed with by newbies and
software that looks for an available app and doesn't care where it's
    located.

    TIA,

  2. Plus I now see the privileges would prevent anyone from altering
anything unintentionally. Now I think about it this is actually a really
good idea. It's great being able to take a look at my TM backups this
    way :)
