G'day all, i'm reaching out to you all in hope someone can point me in the right direction to figure out my recent issue.
I have an old built computer, components are - asus crosshair iii motherboard, amd phenom 2 x6 1090t blk edition processor, Kingston ddr3 hyperx blu 4gb ram (2x2gb), geforce gts450 gpu, ssd main hd, 2 x 2tb std hd. Powered by corsair 750w psu. Still running windows 7.
Built this (with help) back in 2009/10. It has been flawless and all I have needed for many years. Recently I went to start the old girl up and nothing.
I have confirmed power from the psu by jumping green and blk on 24pin. It fires up tested power at pins and all ok. Confirmed its not power button issue by trying both the onboard start and jumping pins on board. Nothing. The rog logo lights and fades as per it always has telling me it has sb power to the board. I've tested and have power at the start button pin aswell. I've tried complete draindown of board, clr-cmos etc. No change. I decided to see what happened if I jumped the grn/blk wires on 24pin plug while it was connected and everything connected and bang it fired up and booted to windows. Worked. If you then hit the power button it shuts down o/s (though everything still is powered). Hit
powered button again and it starts up and boots normally to windows. Pull the jumper at any point and it all shuts off.. Just hoping the gurus may have an answer or direction I could look at. I know the old girl needs updating but honestly I love it and don't want to give up on it yet. Any help would be appreciated
