    Hi,

I currently have Win XP Pro running on an 80 gb Maxtor IDE Hard drive.

I have a 250 gb Western Digital SATA2 Hard Drive which I would like to use to store movies on and play games and the like. I was wondering if there was any way to use this Hard Drive?

So far, when I load up BIOS, it does not see my SATA HD. When loading up Win XP with the SATA Hard drive connected, XP does not see it either.

During the booting procedure, I am able to see the <CTRL + S or F4> to enter Raid setup. Do I need two SATA Hard Drives on this particular motherboard, or should I just return this HD and get an IDE?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have been looking all over for the answer and have found nothing. Thank you all in advance.

SATA 2.0 should be backwards compatible with SATA1, so don't worry.
If you doubt, either check the SATA controller spec sheets or the HDD spec sheets - they'll tell you too.
BUT>>>Just don't know if that mobo supportz sata2......
