hi all.....

1. Is is practical to put a system together just using the motherboard, cpu , ram, vid card and cd rom... and just POST to the Bios screen. NO HARD DISK YET .

2. I want to do this to make sure the components I have are ok and I put it all together ok. Hard disk will be purchased later on in the week.

*Thanks to ALL in advance who reply.*

If you are eager to give it whirl and everything is together properly it can't hurt. You could boot to a floppy and play some DOS games.

Or, boot with a Knoppix CD and make that 'puter useful today.
