Presario 3000 graphics card dead

    Hi

    My friend asked me to take a look at his laptop as the screen was dead. It seems that the problem it intermittent and the screen does come on sometimes but then goes very very fuzzy and has lines running across it vertically. I suspect the graphics card/module has failed as it won't even send an output to the external monitor interface.

    Does anyone know if the module is replaceable/repairable or will I have to try and get a new system board/
