I have a 4700 running XP. Im trying to add a 2nd HDD but am having no luck. Its a 40G Western Digital IDE drive, I have the conversion adapter to make it a SATA drive. I made sure the second SATA slot was on in the bios then hooked up the drive - the computer wont start - I get a " cannot find SATA disk 1 press f1/f2" No matter how I jumper the drive its still not recognized. I have even removed the sata cable from the main HDD leaving only the new hooked up. Still no go. It will work if I hook it up to the IDE slot. The problem is I have a ide cdrw and dvd drives already hooked up.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
