Proliant ML310 G1 can't handle 300GB HDs

    the internal ATA100 RAID Controller of my HP ProLiant ML310 Server (with the
    latest ROM Bios Update which is available from HP - V4.11 D12 09/15/2004)
    recognizes my two new Maxtor Maxline III 300GB IDE Harddisks with just about
    128 GB. How can I force the Controller to accept the remaining 170 GB?

    You probably cannot force the controller to handle a larger drive. There is a
    built-in almost hard-wired BIOS limitation. Your only recourse might be to add
    an ATA100 RAID controller card... Ben Myers
