Question about refresh rates....

Alright, with the video card and monitor that I've got, at my resolution I
have some options on the refresh rate. I've got it at 85Hz right now, but I
could go up to 90 or 100Hz. Is higher always better, or is 85 the ideal?

Actually the rate your monitor and your grafic card can switch
between colors is allways limited. However higher refresh rates
deliver more pixels per time, so the will always get less sharp,
unless it is an lcd. In this case the colors will get less distinct
    in (horizontally) adjacent pixels.
