I own a VP6 mainboard with dual PIII 1 Ghz. Up to now, all is OK. Since 1 week, my mainboard shutdown systematicaly after about 5 minutes launch (like switch off by press the power button).

I test the operating system: There is same problem on Windows XP and Windows
2000.

But when I deny the second CPU (use of "/ONECPU" parameter in boot.ini windows file), so my motherboard run on one main CPU, All is OK ?

Is there somone who know what happened ?

I think that my motherboard have bad caps, but I don't saw caps' brown liquid !

Thanks !

This sounds very much like failed capacitors. Most failed capacitors only show a slightly domed top, sometimes there is no outward sign. Actual leakage of electrolyte is actually not so common on the VP6.
