Any advise would be greatly appreciated...I'm trying to reinstall Windows XP Professional as well as the drivers and utilities all from CD after my friend completely cleaned everything off of his Dell Dimension 2100 (old, I know) work computer and gave it to me. Everything was working just fine 7 days ago (hardware-wise). Now when I put in the Windows XP Professional CD (specifically for Dell computers) my startup process looks like this; Dell Logo then error message "invalid boot diskette, insert BOOT diskette in A: _"
Pressing DEL while Dell logo is on screen (which is supposed to be the key to press for BIOS for a Dimension 2100) also results in the same error message.
Any pointers would help.
