Hi everybody, the little fan on my motherboards chipset was squealing, and now it is dead. Any suggestions on what to replace it with? Can I just replace the fan, or should I yank out the motherboard (hoping to avoid this, but I know how) and then pop off the heatsink and install a new one with fan attached?
Also, I am not using the onboard video or overclocking my system, so do I need to replace this fan at all? So far the system temp seems ok. I should probably just build a new system anyway, but I was going to give this motherboard to my son for his machine.
Any ideas?
