Replacement MB for A708.uk

Due to a lightning strike nightmare i have a FUBAR video card in my a708.uk, all other things seem to work correctly so i`m looking to replace my MB.

So i have a few questions if anyone can help.

1) Is this a normal or proprietary power/MB connector?
2) Is the processor "easily" removable (ie without specialist tools)
3) Can this case work with other MB`s

or

4) Can I purchase (not from hp due to excessive cost) a motherboard the same as this one?

(oh and not just from someplace online as i have no credit card)

I cannot find much info aside from hp`s own on this MB and it is only referred to as a "Snapper" in the info i can find, as i`m non too well up on Intel chips/MB being a long time AMD user and although i`m confident to do the work myself i dont yet recognise Intel MB`s by sight and cannot tell if the processor is removable due to the huge air duct horn that is part of the heatsink/fan combo on this unit blocking my sight.

What sort of Video Card (agp) will fit in this machine?

i dont want to lose the entire unit and its offsite to my location so i cant keep checking on it when i have little queries.

So anybody, please, just dangle something infront of me even if its just to call me an idiot most of the posts get replies, jeez.
