S1854 AGP port compatibility?

    Hi,

I have been looking for a new graphics card to replace the NVIDIA OEM
card on my Micron Millennia. It has an S1854 mother board with a 4X
AGP slot. I tried a couple of PNY/NVIDIA boards, and both worked
fine, for about 20 minutes. Then the display blanked, or the system
froze. There isn't much tech support for a machine built in 2000 by a
company which has changed owners, though I was told that there might
be an incompatibility in the AGP port. This was also suggested by
some people at the NVIDA newsgroup.

Anybody have any input on this, or a place to check? I use this for
a dedicated machine, so its age isn't really an issue.
