Dear All
I've just installed a Seagate Barracuda 120Gb 8Mb cache SATA drive in my machine after enabling SATA and installing the latest driver from the Abit site. Annoying that you need a power adaptor from Molex and the cables foul each other on the back of the drive.
Anyway I now have a SATA Raid controller in SCSI and RAID devices in XP Pro SP1 and a SCSI controller. Why do I now have a SCSI controller and not just a SATA one? Everything works fine and seems to go OK. Not sure if it's fast as I have it partitioned to H: and I: and have been copying data around off my two IBM ATA100 drives.
