SATA win xp driver probs

Hi

New build NF7-S with Barton 2800,clean install win xp,complete newbie! When I try to install drivers for SATA there is win xp incompatibilty and any attempt to install the drivers from floppy results in a hang.any ideas?

The drivers also come on the supplied CD. You could try using the latest drivers.

Im afraid it still doesnt work,if I wait an age the drivers do install at snails pace but the system will not boot to winxp with SATA enabled in BIOS.Had to do "restore" and delete all SATA drivers,all very confusing

Very Odd. Did you install XP normally with ACPI enabled and is APIC mode enabled in the BIOS?

Also do you have any PCI cards installed?

Looking on the ABIT website forums i can't find any other refrence to not being able to install the drivers for SATA.

I had a problem installing the Highpoint drivers from the floppy for my AT7 Max2 board. Identical thing, when asked to load the drivers during the first few screens of XP install , XP would crash or hang. In the end I didn't bother with the floppy disk and just carried on installing XP/Abit CD drivers as per usual. Everything works fine, and the Raid stuff all seems to be there if I want to use it, and my SATA HD works fine.
