If I make a RCA to 2 pin connector can I use the cd audio input to
input SPDIF audio from my DAT player at 48/16??? I want a way to
input my dat tapes. Thanx for thinking about me.

No, you must use the SPDIF input for that purpose if your soundcard is
equipped with such a connector. The CD Audio connector is analog in nature
    and is not compatible.
