Dovrei acquistare un pc, che farà da server ad altri due, condividendo
    applicazioni gestionali (database).
La mia scelta deve necessariamente essere tra un PENTIUM D 820 dual core 2,8
ghz,800 mhz fsb 2x1 mb cache OPPURE un PENTIUM 4 640 with HT tecnology 3,2
GHZ,800Mhz fsb,2mb cache. Quale dei due secondo voi è meglio utilizzare come
    server?
    Potreste motivare la scelta ?

    Ciao e grazie

  2. Pentium D 940 - prices just went down, go fast and have 64bit capability
in case you need it in the future.

Ditto. There's absolutely *zero* reason to look at the Pentium-D 800 series
except for the 805. The $30 saved by the 820 over the 920 is made up for in
heat, power consumption, and performance. Even with the 805, the speed
different between the 805 (2.66/533) and the 920 (2.8/800) is enough that
one would have to be seriously broke to have the $80 price difference
    matter.
