I'm in need of a little help here people.
I have a p4 2.4 hooked into my board and it all runs ok until I start to play games, after a while the machine will suddenly without any warnings shutdown. After it has done that I have to leave the machine for about 30mins or clear the cmos before it will start again. The only thing I can put it down to is that the chip is getting to hot when running games, all the shutdown features in the bios are off bar the audible warning if the chips gets to hot but that does not sound the machine just stops.

Any ideas?? I'm not going to have any hair left soon!

p.s. I have underclocked (?) my chip to just over 2ghz and ran medal of honour at full chat, not a bloody problem! What gives????

do you monitor the temps? try using Motherboard Monitor to see how hot it is getting. freeware available at:
