Sony Vaio tells me battery is empty when it is fully charged

Discussion in 'Laptops' started by Andrew Cutforth, Oct 27, 2003.

  1. Sometimes when I turn on my Sony Vaio FR105 it tells me the battery has zero
charge and I must shut down when in fact it has plenty of charge.

It is completely unpredictable (happens about once a week), sometimes it
happens when the power is plugged in. In which case it just says it is
charging constantly with a zero battery charge.

If I reboot the problem goes away and it works as normal.

I think it is a hardware problem rather than software because the LED's
    flash to indicate low charge.

It seems it sometimes cannot tell if there is any charge in the battery.
Has anyone heard of this problem before ?
