The tutorials describe the step by step way about convert/ripping
DVDs (either movie DVD or music video DVD) to iPhone video format(MP4,
MPEG-4, H.264), and converting all other popular movie files to

DVD/video on iPhone so you want watch them on your widescreen iPod.

XviD, MPG to iPhone MP4 or H264 format (Windows)
Part 3: How to convert DVD movie to iPhone on Mac OS.

  4. After looking at the handbrake website it seems that it only converts
    dvds to mpeg4.
Does handbrake convert mpeg to mepg4 format as well as dvds?

Have a look at mpeg streamclip, it's free and has a lot of options for
saving and/or re-encoding. Might do what you need, and is free.
