I have a IC7-G overclocked system with a setting of 3.3ghz. About two
weeks ago, I turn on my system which has a 440 watt power supply , 1
GHZ matched memory modules and it automatically turns off. It used to
take six or seven tries to turn on my system. I checked my fans on
CPU,875 chipset and the fan on my power supply and they are all
running. After 7 tries, it boots, changes my setup screen back to 2.4
GHZ and only by re-entering the parameters will it show once again 3.3
GHZ. Now it boots up the second time , not six or seven , why I don't
know and reverts back to 2.4 GHZ and then a screen comes up and states
CPU unworkable or has been changed-please reccheckCPU soft menu. if I
hit F1, it continues to load XP Pro.

If I reenter all the values, he computer shows 3.3 GHZ and can stay on
for hours and not turn off . I have my CPU temperature set to turn off
at the temperature Intel specifies but that will only work if I can
    boot up XP Pro.
My room is air conditioned and that may be why it stays on.

My real problem is why does it shut off before even seeing my boot
    screen.

I look forward to your help. Incidentally my case is open not closed
at all so there should be plenty of ventilation.

    Thanks

Either your memory, power supply or chip-set can't handle the overclocking.
Does it boot properly when you don't overclock?

Abit recommends setting the CPU temperature alarm in BIOS to 75 or 85c have
    you tried it?
