terrible performance after installing a new hd, ram, and video driver

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by Bobo de Bruine Bosbeer, Dec 12, 2003.

  1. I've recently installed a new 80gb hard drive and 256mb RAM on my pentium 3,
along with a new video driver. It was around this time that my computer
started lagging like crazy, it takes at least 60% of cpu usage to move a
    window across the screen!

Is the hard drive to blame for this, or could it be that my TNT2 graphics
card doesn't agree with the newest nvidia driver for winXP? I've just
disconnected a network drive, and nothing changed, so it can't be that...

    Any ideas?

Do NOT use the latest nVidia driver with that old a card. Try using 45.23.
