Okay, I tried to post that reply as a new posying. I cut and pasted the content of the reply that will not post and put all that into a new message and guess what..... It will not post.

Is there something that could be in that message that the powers that be will not aloow being posted? There is no HTML, Cursing, threats, etc. Just a simple followup to a message???????

Thomas

Just a little guess on my part but have you taken the message in question and reviewed it's contents in the light of your ISP's rules for sending e-mail? (i.e. no illegal, copyrighted, etc. is acceptable when the message is checked by right clicking the message, select properties and details - read the restrictions for applicability.)

It is not email but a NG reply to be posted on this NG. My ISP says that they do not control or look at postings to the NG's they carry. They are only the gateway to the NG's. They say if there is any control over what is posted and not posted, that has to be taken care of by the NG.

I have completely reworded my reply and can still not get that specific reply to post as either a reply to the original or as a new posting. Beats the hell out of me!

Hello Thomas:
Your original post and the replies showed up on my end. You might look at the settings in your news reader. In Outlook Express, those are under the View menu. You may have selected a setting that screens out messages.

Are you talking about the original "TEST" message or the original "Re:
XP Upgrade Q811493" reply that would not post? Except for that 5 times trying to get the reply under "Re: XP Upgrade Q811493" to post, everything I have posted or replied to has shown up.

You might look at the settings in your news reader.

I tried posting that reply ("Re: XP Upgrade Q811493") using both Outlook Express and Free Agent. Neither showed the reply as being accepted for posting. I even did a test reply to that specific message without quoting any of the original message and putting nothing more in the reply than the word TEST and I still can't get a reply to that specific message to post for some odd reason.

The message that I can't get a reply to post to is the message by Jupiter Jones under "Re: XP Upgrade Q811493" posted on 06/07/03. I would like to see if anyone else can get a reply to that specific message be accepted and post.

Thomas

Hi Thomas - I just sent a message in response to Jupiter Jones' message in the: "Re: XP Upgrade Q811493" message. It is now posted, but I don't know how this might help you - but one can still post to that message.

Shyrl

Thanks Sharon. I saw your message (in the " XP Upgrade Q811493" thread) and replied to it but it would not post. For some odd reason, I seem to be the only one that can not post any morte replies in that specific thread. You would think that if I can post new messages and replies elsewhere on this NG that I could in the " XP Upgrade Q811493" thread also. As you can see, up until that last Jupiter Jones message (which I was trying to reply to) I was able to post in that specific thread.

Oh well..... Thanks again for posting there so I could see if it was just me or everyone locked out of that specific thread.

Regards
Thomas

I tried to do a reply to that message and couldn't get it to show up either. I assume something is wrong somewhere with some people trying to do replies in that particular thread. While I don't post here often, what little bit of posting I have done have always shown up.

Well, at least now I know it had nothing to do with what I was doing or my setup. Strange though that this is happening.
