They said it could be my motherboard

    I have a Compaq Presario 2900 CL laptop. Last year my ac adaptor stopped charging my battery. My sister has the same laptop as I so I checked my battery and ac adaptor in hers and she did the same in mine. Well my battery and ac adaptor works fine in hers, her battery works in mine, but her ac adaptor will not work in mine, but it works on hers.
    So I believe it is the adaptor port in the back of my computer that is messed up. I talked to a guy and he said it could possibly be my motherboard. I read that it deals with control circuits.

    Is that the possible solution?
